Abstract
This fundamental descriptive-survey study aimed to standardize the latest figural version of the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) for the Iranian adult population and to evaluate the validity and reliability of the two-dimensional creativity structure (innovation and adaptation) in the Iranian cultural context. The sample comprised 241 employees from an industrial company, selected via simple random sampling, who completed Forms A and B of the figural TTCT. Mplus software was utilized for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and measurement invariance testing between the two forms, while R programming language was employed to calculate internal consistency coefficients (Alpha and Omega). CFA results indicated that the two-dimensional creativity model exhibited a better fit than the unidimensional model, with the ‘resistance to premature closure’ component loading solely on the adaptation factor. The overall creativity index (Omega: 0.80–0.84) demonstrated higher reliability than individual factors. Furthermore, Form B showed better reliability and fit compared to Form A. Measurement invariance testing confirmed configural and metric invariance between the two forms, but scalar invariance was rejected. Overall, the findings validate the two-dimensional structure of creativity in the Iranian population and indicate high reliability for the overall creativity index. Form B is recommended for scientific research and sensitive assessments due to its superior performance. Employing a two-dimensional scoring framework, instead of a unidimensional index, allows for a more precise analysis of creativity profiles and can be effective in educational and organizational policies for fostering creativity.
